CloudDJ - How-to: Setup Requests

The requests App lets you place a widget on your website so listeners can choose tracks to play. They are limited to choosing one track until it is played. This prevents request spamming.

Requests don’t get played automatically, instead the Cloud DJ’s owner can select what he/she wants to play. This article will guide you through a setup of the Request System.

Setup

First you will need to activate the Requests app in Wavepanel.

Go to Cloud DJ > “MyCDJ” > Apps and click Enable by Requests.

Next go to Cloud DJ > “MyCDJ” > Settings. You will see the Requests config panel in the lower right of the page.

Here are the features you can change –

‘Under the hood’

  1. Clear Requests: Set a time in minutes – this will clear any queued and unplayed requests after the specified amount of time.
  2. Queue Limit: How many songs are able to be queued in your request system at any one time.
  3. Available for Request: This lets you click All Tracks or custom selection of Tags to let your listeners flick through.

The Widget

  1. Background Colour: You can either select a hash colour or use the colour picker – This is the main background of your request system.
  2. Border Colour: You can either select a hash colour or use the colour picker – This is the outline of your request system.
  3. Header Background Colour: You can either select a hash colour or use the colour picker – This is the background colour of the header where the search box is located.
  4. Text Colour: You can either select a hash colour or use the colour picker – This is the colour of your selected tracks.
  5. Hover Text Colour: You can either select a hash colour or use the colour picker – This is the colour the text will change to when you hover your mouse over a track.

Embedding on your Site

Click “Get Code” next to “Requests“. The code will appear at the top of the page. Copy and paste the code into your Website’s HTML Code.

You will then need to add the request tag to your playlists. This can be added by following the How-To: Creating Playlists guide and clicking the Request tag to insert it.
